Aleksandr Babaev

Esteemed Russian director Aleksandr Babaev was born in 1949 in Moscow, Russia. Known for his work in the war and drama genres, his career spanned from the 1970s to the late 1990s, producing notable films such as "Obvinyayutsya v ubiystve" and "Prikhodi na menya posmotret". Although Babaev did not win at major international film festivals, his film "Prikhodi na menya posmotret" was nominated for the Best Film award at the Russian Guild of Film Critics in 1985. Despite the harsh realities depicted in his films, Babaev always managed to infuse a sense of humanity into his storytelling, making his characters feel real and relatable to his audience.
