Algimantas Puipa
Algimantas Puipa, the maestro of Lithuanian cinema, was born in 1948 in Skuodas, Lithuania. He has been an active director since the 1970s, largely working in drama and romance genres, with his most acclaimed features being "Vilniaus getas" (Vilnius Ghetto) and "Dievų miškas" (Forest of the Gods), the latter of which earned him the Best Director Award at the Shanghai International Film Festival.
