He is celebrated for his meditative dramas, with his most famous works being "Kaili Blues" and "Long Day's Journey Into Night," the former earning him the Best Emerging Director award at the 68th Locarno International Film Festival. Bi Gan's authorial style is characterized by his dreamlike narrative approach and long, unbroken tracking shots that subtly blur the boundaries between memory, dream, and reality.
