Active from 1926 to 1957, he became a household name in comedy and drama genres, with his most famous work being the 1927 film "Wings", which won the first-ever Academy Award for Best Picture. Despite not being a regular recipient of awards at major film festivals, Rogers' cinematic contributions were lauded with an honorary Academy Award in 1986 for his lifetime achievement in the film industry.
