The vibrant voice of Caribbean cinema, Eché Janga, was born in 1980 in Willemstad, Curaçao. Making his directorial debut in 2011, Janga has since become renowned for his deeply personal and reflective films within the drama genre, with his most distinguished works being "Helium" and "Buladó," the latter of which won the Golden Calf for Best Film at the Netherlands Film Festival. His authorial style is characterized by a unique blend of magical realism and socio-political commentary, often drawing from his own experiences and cultural heritage.
