F.J. Ossang, the poetic punk of French cinema, was born in 1956 in Niort, France, and has been actively directing films since the early 1980s. His work primarily spans the genres of mystery, sci-fi, and experimental cinema, with his most renowned films including "L'affaire des divisions Morituri" and "9 Doigts", the latter earning him the Best Director award at the Locarno Film Festival. Ossang's authorial style is characterized by its enigmatic narratives, black-and-white aesthetics, and a strong influence of punk culture and literature.
