Godfrey Ho

Godfrey Ho

Tagline: Godfrey Ho, the master of cut-and-paste cinema from the East.

Godfrey Ho was born in Hong Kong in 1948 and was active in filmmaking from the 1970s through the early 1990s, primarily in the genres of martial arts and exploitation films. His most famous films include the "Ninja Terminator" and a multitude of other "ninja" titles, none of which garnered him any significant awards, but rather a cult following for their uniquely disjointed narrative style. Ho's authorial style is characterized by his unusual method of splicing unrelated film footage together to create a new and often confusing narrative.

From the heart, Godfrey Ho is a filmmaker who dared to be different, and in doing so, carved out a niche in the world of cinema that is uniquely his own, turning perceived shortcomings into his signature style.
