Jesús Franco

Jesús Franco

Dubbed as the king of B-movies, Jesús Franco was born in Madrid, Spain in the year 1930 and directed over 200 films in a career that spanned from 1959 to 2013. His main genre was horror, although he also ventured into erotica, thriller, and exploitation, with "Vampyros Lesbos" and "She Killed in Ecstasy" being among his most famous films. Unfortunately, his work, characterized by low budgets and a tendency towards the surreal, did not receive significant awards at major film festivals. Franco was an enigma, a maverick in the world of cinema who never let budget constraints hinder his boundless creativity.
