His directorial career spans almost three decades, during which he has crafted his narratives in the realm of romance, drama, and fantasy, with notable films such as "Sex and Lucia" and "The Red Squirrel" earning him a reputation as one of Spain's most distinctive filmmakers. Médem's films, often marked by non-linear storytelling, surreal elements and intense eroticism, have won several awards, including the Best New Director at the San Sebastián International Film Festival for his debut film "Vacas."
