South Korean visionary Kim Dong-won was born in 1955 in Seoul, South Korea. Active since the 1980s, he is known for his work primarily in the documentary genre, with his most renowned films being "Repatriation" and "The Sanggye-Dong Olympics", which showcase his unique ability to blend reality with storytelling. Kim has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Freedom of Expression Award at the Sundance Film Festival for "Repatriation".
