Kirk Wong

Kirk Wong

Grounded in the grit and grime of the streets, Hong Kong filmmaker Kirk Wong was born in British Hong Kong in 1949 and actively directed films from 1973 until 2001. Known primarily for his action and crime films, Wong's most notable works include "Organized Crime and Triad Bureau" and Hollywood production "The Big Hit," both of which exemplify his penchant for gritty realism and intense action sequences. Despite his impressive body of work, Wong has not been widely recognized at major film festivals, but his contributions to the Hong Kong film industry and crime genre remain significant. A true craftsman of the lens, Wong's raw, realistic portrayals of the criminal underworld brought an unflinching honesty to the silver screen.
