Kiyoshi Kurosawa

Master of Japanese horror, Kiyoshi Kurosawa was born in 1955 in Kobe, Japan, and began his directorial career in the late 1970s. Best known for his work in horror and thriller genres, his most celebrated films include "Cure," "Pulse," and "Tokyo Sonata," the latter granting him the Un Certain Regard Jury Prize at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival. Kurosawa's authorial style is characterized by his unique blend of suspense and existential dread, often underpinned by a critique of modern society.
