Marv Newland, an animator extraordinaire, who was born in 1947 in Los Angeles, California, USA, has made his mark in the world of animation during his active years from the late 1960s to the present day. Noted for his work primarily in the genre of animation, Newland rose to fame with his iconic 1969 short film "Bambi Meets Godzilla" and later crafted the acclaimed 1985 animated feature "Anijam," among others, demonstrating a unique style that often combines dark humor with irreverent satire. Although not recognized by major film festivals, Newland's work is highly regarded within the animation community, and his contributions to the field have been acknowledged with lifetime achievement awards by the Ottawa International Animation Festival and the World Festival of Animated Film - Animafest Zagreb.
