Michael Oblowitz

An edgy auteur of independent cinema, Michael Oblowitz was born in 1950 in Cape Town, South Africa. He has been active in the film industry since the late 1970s, primarily in the genres of action, crime, and horror, with his most recognized films including "This World, Then the Fireworks" and "The Breed." Although he hasn't garnered major film festival awards, his gritty, visceral style and affinity for exploring dark themes have made him a unique voice in cinema.
