A celebrated voice in the realm of documentary filmmaking, Michele Josue was born in 1979 in the Philippines, before moving to the United States. Active since the mid-2000s, Josue has built a powerful career in the genre of documentary, with her most renowned work to date being "Matt Shepard is a Friend of Mine" (2013), a touching exploration of the life and tragic death of Matthew Shepard, for which she won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Special Class Special.
