Nicolae Mărgineanu

A master of Romanian cinema, Nicolae Mărgineanu was born in 1938 in the village of Vălenii de Munte, Romania. He was active as a director from the 1960s onwards, filming primarily in the drama genre, with notable works including "The Secret of Bacchus" (1984) and "The Moromete Family" (1987), the latter winning the award for Best Director at the 1988 Moscow International Film Festival.
