Okey-Zubelu Okoh

An influential figure in Nigerian cinema, Okey-Zubelu Okoh was born in 1980 in Lagos, Nigeria. He began his directing career in the early 2000s, primarily focusing on Nollywood films and television series, such as "The Kingdom" and "The Empire", which have achieved remarkable recognition in the African cinema. Although he may not yet have received awards at major international film festivals, his work is characterized by its unflinching portrayal of the struggles and triumphs of everyday Nigerians, bringing a raw and authentic voice to Nollywood. From the heart, Okoh is a director who passionately portrays his homeland's narratives, continually pushing the boundaries of storytelling in Nollywood.
