Sameh Zoabi

Sameh Zoabi, a voice of contemporary Palestinian cinema, was born in 1975, in the village of Iksal, near Nazareth, Israel. Active since the early 2000s, Zoabi has primarily worked within the genres of drama and comedy, his most notable works including "Under the Same Sun" and "Tel Aviv on Fire," the latter of which won the Best Film award at the Venice Film Festival. His films often portray the complexities of life in Israel, subtly laced with humor and satire, reflecting the everyday struggles and hopes of his characters.
