Master of Brazilian cinema, Sergio Pinheiro was born in 1937 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and was active in the film industry from the early 1960s until his death in 2003. Primarily working within the genres of drama and comedy, he is best known for his films "The Brave Warrior" and "The Lady from the Shanghai Cinema," both of which received critical acclaim, with "The Brave Warrior" winning the Golden Palm at the Cannes Film Festival.
