Straw Weisman

Straw Weisman

An emblem of the independent film scene, Straw Weisman was born in 1952 in New York, USA. Active from the late 1970s onwards, he is well-known for his works in the drama and comedy genres, with his most famous films being the 2001 improvised feature "Man of the Year" and the 1987 comedy "Welcome to 18". While he may not have bagged major festival awards, his distinctive authorial style of real-time, single-take filmmaking has left an indelible mark on indie cinema.

On a personal note, Straw Weisman is a director who beautifully captures the spontaneity of life and human emotion, always reminding us of cinema's potential to reflect reality in its rawest form.
