Tun-Fei Mou

A master of horror and exploitation cinema, Tun-Fei Mou was born in 1941 in Shenyang, Liaoning, China. Active from the late 1960s until his retirement in the 90s, Mou explored the darker side of human nature in his films, most notably in the disturbing historical horror movie, "Men Behind the Sun," and its sequels, which, while not garnering major festival awards, have achieved a certain cult status. His work is distinguished by its unflinching depiction of cruelty, which, while often controversial, is also seen as an uncompromising, raw reflection of historical events.
