A bold voice in Pacific cinema, Vea Mafile'o was born in 1975 in Nuku'alofa, Tonga. She has been active in the film industry since the early 2000s, predominantly working in the documentary genre with notable works including "Tongan Ark" and the critically acclaimed "For My Father's Kingdom". Although her films have not yet garnered awards at major international festivals, they have been celebrated for their intimate, personal exploration of Tongan culture and identity.
