Dubbed as a visionary of South Korean cinema, Whanjun Yeo was born in 1965 in Seoul, South Korea. He became active in the film industry from 1988 onwards, showcasing his prowess through dramatic and thriller genres, with his most renowned works being "The Gate of Destiny" and "Memento Mori". Although his work is not heavily decorated in international film festivals, his unique authorial style of combining traditional Korean elements with contemporary storytelling has left an indelible mark in South Korean cinema.
