Ten years after he left in anger, the late hotel landlord\’s son, Poul, returns home from America to end the inheritance case with Mrs. Andersen. The girls in the kitchen wonder what really happened between the serious young man and his father, and whether he has come now because he wants to take over the hotel. Amanda has put her father on ice until he keeps his part of the deal and acquits Morten, but then she suddenly discovers a secret that can solve the problem completely without the help of wholesaler Madsen.
