Chariot confronts Croix, but fails to stop the Noir Rod being activated by the escalating anger generated by the rioting mobs, disabling all magic across the country. Akko and her friends, who were using the leylines to return to Luna Nova, end up stranded in Arcturus Forest near the Grand Triskelion, just as Croix transports the Noir Rod there, with Chariot just managing to tag along. Croix unseals the Triskelion, but to her shock it appears to be nothing but a simple twig that can only cast the simplest of magic, and Woodward declares her unworthy of wielding the world reconstruction magic. At that moment, the deteriorating emotional state of England overloads the Noir Rod, causing it to go berserk and attack Croix. Chariot defends Croix, resulting her being devoured. Arriving at the scene, Akko uses the Shiny Rod to destroy the Noir Rod and makes amends with Chariot, realizing that she has to follow her own path and how much her friends and Chariot have helped her find it. This emotional moment triggers the activation of the seventh and final word, and with the power of the Triskelion in her hands, Akko transforms Arcturus into a lush and vibrant forest. But as Akko and her friends celebrate, it is revealed that the Noir Rod has not been destroyed, but has taken the form of a rocket and launched itself into space.
