General Shen Li of the Spiritual Realm is dissatisfied with her arranged marriage to the Immortal Realm. To take control of her own destiny, she chooses to run away from the marriage. Unexpectedly, she is intercepted and unfortunately injured during the fight. She falls to the Mortal Realm, transforming into her phoenix form. Mistaken for a chicken, she is sold in the market, but fortunately rescued by a mortal named Xing Yun. Xing Yun brought Shen Li back to his abode. Shen Li, the once-dominant figure in the Spiritual Realm, now has to rely on Xing Yun's food to survive. She also faces the constant threat of being captured, which makes her feel extremely humiliated. Xing Yun may seem frail, but he protects Shen Li in times of crisis and is an excellent cook. Shen Li discovers that her spiritual powers recover faster when she eats his food. However, Xing Yun's whereabouts are mysterious, and he maintains a detached demeanor.
