Aware that Ellen loves costume drama 'Sharpe' Tom invites her to a country house but unfortunately his parents and sister Maeve come too whilst Ellen brings Hermione, who invites Luke. When Ellen's car breaks down Tom vies with Luke to mend it – and loses out. However, after he has imagined himself as Sharpe taking on the enemy he is still able to win Ellen over by taking her to a very romantic place.
